What's better than playing with a new toy? Playing with one that you have made your self!

We have provided Toy Making Experiences to schools in England for years, giving children both the opportunity to learn skills in design and technology, and enhancing their sense of self esteem by going through a set of process to end with a toy that they have made and can play with.

Now this opportunity is open to everyone with our new Traditional Toy Mini Kits!

The Marbles Bridge toy goes back about 500 years to the time of the Tudors. Originally marbles were made from stone (hence why they are called marbles) or clay. By the Victorian era beautiful glass marbles were being made for children to enjoy, giving a range of bright colours and designs.

There are four steps to building your toy:

  1. Sand/smooth your components
  2. Draw your design
  3. Colour in
  4. Assemble

Included in your Traditional Toy Mini Kit:

  • 1x wooden toy
  • 1x glass marble

Other tools you might need:

  • Sandpaper (between 120 and 180 grit)
  • Pencil and colouring pencils (crayons are fine but do not use felt tips as the ink "bleeds" through the wood)
  • PVA wood glue (fast drying)

ATTENTION: Contains small parts. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age, or any individuals who have a tendancy to place inedible objects in their mouth. Parental supervision essential.
