Witches and Wizards
Nicodemus is an apothecary, meaning people come to him in search of remedy for all manner of ails!
It's his wife, Ursula, that does most of the work though, and it is this work that will take your guests on a journey to the medieval world of the supernatural.
In the early days of science, all is not as it seems to be. Welcome to a time where science, medicine, religion and magic all blend in to one.
It may be a cure that you need, or possibly protection. Learn different skills and ways to apply magic, how to cure yourself, and how to protect yourself from sinister forces.
Step into a Medieval school for aspiring magic users of all ages!

The Classes
As well as visitor engagement and games, as part of our Witch and Wizard Event Days we provide three 30 minute "classes" throughout each day. Each class covers something different about the idea of magic in the Middle Ages and is designed to get the audience involved and feel like they are part of the story. In each class participants get to make a magical item to take home with them.
Here are the classes:

The Middle Ages is the crucible, where the idea about what is magic (and what isn't) is formed. The idea of harmful magic users goes far beyond the medieval world, far beyond Christianity even, but people who obtain power from malevolent forces is a major concern of the church. But how would you know a witch if you saw one? More importantly, how do you shield yourself from their wicked magic? In this class learn what makes a witch and what magic is before learning to write your own talisman.

In the Middle Ages, the unseen is just as real as the world you can see and touch. In a world inhabited by elves who cause you to lose your mind, unicorns that will kill anyone except a young maiden, strange creatures with no heads how do you protect yourself? In this class you learn about some of the many mystical beasts from the Middle Ages before making your own protective amulet to keep mischievous elves at bay.

If you fall ill in the Middle Ages there might be a simple cure, but what if malevolent forces are what is causing your dis-ease? In the Medieval world, magic and medicine are almost inseparable, meaning that those administering it need to make sure that they don't fall foul of the church! In this class discover strange cures and make your own potion to take home with you.

The Games
For many visitors it is the games that we provide that are the highlight. Our games are all Medieval games that transport players back in time. We fill our Games Arena with many different games, that are relevant to the period, that visitors can play at their leisure and return as much as they want.
Our Games Arena gives visitors something to enjoy from the moment the gates open to the end of the day. Some games are simple, others have more intricate rules, and this spread means that there is something for all.
