Archaeology existed for our ancestors too!
They were always puzzling over the remains and clues left by those before them.
Stone tools have been used by humans for far longer than iron or bronze, meaning that every now and again walkers might find an old stone tool.
In the Middle Ages, it was believed that elves and other magical creatures roamed our world (some even claimed to have seen them.
Elves didn't always get on with humans and sometimes even attacked them with invisible arrows (a strike to the head would cause headaches). The elvesleft without a trace, except, sometimes a traveller might find the tip of one of those arrows (a flint arrow head). In a world ruled by magic and unseen forces, wearing one of these flint "elf shot" arrow heads would protect you from further attacks!
