When the Angles and Saxons (and the Frisians and the Jutes) came to the shores of Britain, they brought their language, their religion and their customs.

Viking clothing was very different to the clothes that are worn today. Neither the Vikings nor the Anglo-Saxons had clothes with pockets. In the Viking era if you wanted to carry valuables around with you then you would need a pouch which you could attach onto your belt. Usually these pouches would be made from leather and could be plain or highly decorated depending on your wealth.

The chances are that if you think of a Roman building one of the first things that you would think of is a mosaic floor. The Romans loved mosaics and they would often decorate the floors of their homes and public buildings with these elaborate designs (if they were wealthy enough).

The Romans loved games, just like we do today, and played many different games, some of which had several sets of rules.
